I picked up this small tractor as a project to recondition three years ago. Now this 58 year old tractor has a new automobile style paint job. The dings and dents have also been removed. The tractor stays in the garage and has seen light work for the time I have had it. Other than taking pleasure rides around the block, I used it one winter to plow, and I use it in the fall to sweep leaves. The Cub runs well with little or no smoke when not choked. I had the magneto rebuilt 3 years ago when I reconditioned the tractor and at that time I did minor engine maintenance, replaced the lower radiator housing and other minor work. I have to say that the tractor starts easily, runs strong, has very good oil pressure, and looks good. The hydraulics work well, as well as the PTO in the rear. Wheel weights on rear wheels The front tires are worn, but hold air. The rear tires are less worn and also hold air. The fuel line is not original; the generator was replaced with an alternator that I never have hooked it up. I just cracked the lens on the oil pressure gauge, but it still reads the same as it did before. There is a slight rub noise when in 1st. grear and seems to make the noise at one spot of the rears wheel revolution. I drive the tractor more than 4 miles, twice a year to fuel up with no problems other than a sore arm from waving back at people (that can move faster than 6 mph). Please email me with any questions. I forgot to mention that this tractor does come with the Fast Hitch and the Adjuster that is attached to the left fender. |
