Application: This grade excels in two main application areas; high-speed finishing of gray cast irons, and medium-speed finishing of alloy steels that are in a hardness range of 35 to 50 HRc. The hard substrate prolongs tool life in these applications. The alumina coating allows higher cutting speeds. The TiC layer contributes abrasion resistance, which is important for intended uses.
