Vintage John Deere Model M 2 Cylinder Tractor! This tractor is not running and will need some work to get it going again so please read the entire description. The previous owner of this tractor had the engine rebuilt a couple of years ago, but it sat for a long time after that without use and the motor stuck. It does have what appears to be either a new aftermarket head or a rebuilt head and the paper manifold gasket has not even been charred, so it hasn’t been run much at all since the overhaul. This one still has the proper generator, good battery box, cast front wheels with hubcaps, original or very good aftermarket steering wheel, and is very complete. The steering is good and tight on it. The sheet metal overall is good. There is a little damage to the screens on the nose, but overall the metal is very workable and straight. There are just a couple of minor wrinkles and dings. The fenders are in good shape and the valve stem holes in all the rims are not rusted out. There is a little bit of light rust, but nothing major at all. This one should make for a very good restoration project. The throttle lever has been welded, the belt pulley has been removed and a top link plate has been put on. The hitch is intact, but a 3pt quick hitch has been added. It is not welded to hitch cross piece but has been added to the little gooseneck piece that is usually missing. Has a good seat frame but needs original cushions and back rest installed to be correct. The rear tires are matching 11.2-24 and are in good condition with around 70% tread remaining. The front tires are 5.00-15 and need to be replaced. This little tractor should be a pretty easy restore. If you have questions, PLEASE ask them. We will be glad to answer them to the best of our ability! |
